| Welcome to Muddy River K-9 Academy |
Our name is a reflection of the area in which we served as police officers. Both jurisdictions included parts of the Susquehanna River. Our research indicates that Susquehanna means "Muddy River".
We presently offer basic and competitive obedience, and all phases of Schutzhund. We also offer in-board obedience training, detection, and police dog training.
Pictured above is Axel, who was owned, handled, trained, and dearly loved by Carol. He was her third and final police service dog. She purchased him as a young untrained dog, trained him to be a police k9 and titled him to SchH 3, DPO 2. He was a dog who performed as well on the street as he did on the competition field. He was a very handsome dog with a great disposition. He was my greatest lesson in patience, but worth every bit of effort. We lost him to cancer too soon and still miss him everyday. To honor him for all that he was, we have chosen him as the face of Muddy River K-9 Academy. We have been involved with working dogs, police canine and Schutzhund sport, since 1988.
